Marvel Studios won’t change Deadpool because it’s “working”, says Kevin Feige

April 17, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Deadpool is working just fine says Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, so there is no need to change anything.

While many fans are happy that the Fox Marvel characters such as the X-Men are coming over to Marvel Studios at long last, some are worried what this might mean for current beloved franchises like Deadpool.

Deadpool 1 and 2 have been very successful but will the franchise be welcome at Marvel in its current form? Well, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has told Variety that they have no intention of changing it:

“When we were purchased, Bob Iger said to us, ‘if it’s not broke, don’t fix it’. There’s no question that Deadpool is working, so why would we change it?”

This will certainly be good news for fans of Deadpool, who would love to see future R-rated movies with the character continue, despite Disney’s ownership. But does this mean that Marvel could be sticking with Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth, and if so, would it be outside of the MCU?

Only time will tell but let us know in the comments below or on social media how you’d like to see Marvel handling Deadpool…
