Netflix’s Black Samurai enlists Chad Stahelski and Leigh Dana Jackson

October 23, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Netflix has tapped John Wick helmer Chad Stahelski and Raising Dion executive producer Leigh Dana Jackson for an adaptation of Marc Olden’s 70s blaxploitation novels Black Samurai, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

Olden’s Black Samurai books were published in the 1970s and follow Robert Sand, an American soldier in Japan who learns the way of the samurai as he embarks on a mission of vengeance and subsequently embarks on globe-trotting adventures.

The books were previously adapted for the big screen in 1977, with Enter the Dragon’s Jim Kelly starring in the title role as Robert Sand, a.k.a. the Black Samurai.
