Original logline for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Star Wars series allegedly revealed

April 29, 2020 by Samuel Brace

A new report has presented the supposed original logline for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Star Wars series.

When it comes to Disney+’s in development Obi-Wan Kenobi series, fans are after any information they can about the highly anticipated return of Ewan McGregor. We know that the show is set between Episode III and IV but that’s about it.

Obi-Wan won’t start filming until 2021 but we may have just found out what the show’s original premise was going to be, giving us a taste of what to expect from the series. A report from The Illuminerdi contains the rumoured concept that was going to be used before some behind the scenes changes:

“Tatooine, a desert planet where farmers work hard under the heat of two suns. Meanwhile, they try to defend themselves and their loved ones from the marauders Tusken. A planet behind the edge of civilization. And a place where it would be unlikely to find a Jedi master, or an orphan child on whom the future of the entire galaxy weighs on its small shoulders.”

This is, of course, incredibly vague and just a way to set the scene but the details seem to be pretty spot on with what fans would expect from this series. However, the project is currently undergoing a retooling courtesy of writer Joby Harold (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), who replaced original writer Hossein Amini (The Alienist) due to creative differences, and so things are naturally subject to change.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series is currently targeting a 2022 premiere on Disney+.
