Quentin Tarantino has shelved The Movie Critic as his final film

April 18, 2024 by Ricky Church

Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming tenth and final is undergoing a major change as Deadline announced Tarantino’s The Movie Critic will no longer be his swan song. Rather, he has shelved the film and will choose something else as his final production.

This comes as a surprise as it has been reported Tarantino was going to reteam with his Inglorious Basterds and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood actor Brad Pitt to lead the film. Other actors that were circling The Movie Critic were Paul Walter Hauser (I, Tonya) and even mega-star Tom Cruise, who was rumoured to be “reworking some things to make time for Tarantino’s The Movie Critic“ for a small role or cameo.

The Movie Critic was to take place in 1977 California and be “based on a guy who really lived, but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag.” It was aiming for a 2025 release.

The reason for the sudden change is apparently as simple as Tarantino changing his mind for what his final film will be and will work on something new.

If The Movie Critic will not be his tenth and final film, what could be exciting enough to replace it? Does Tarantino have another original idea or should fans keep their fingers crossed for the much anticipated and asked about Kill Bill Vol. 3? What would you like to see?
