Resident Evil 6 titled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

June 17, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Despite being given a September 2014 release date by Sony (which obviously it has no chance of meeting), we’ve heard very little about the sixth instalment of the Resident Evil movie franchise, save for the fact that writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson will be back alongside leading lady Milla Jovovich and Li Bingbing (Ada Wong). Well, Collider managed to catch up with Anderson, who has indicated that Resident Evil 6 could bring the curtain down on the franchise

“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is the working title”, states Anderson. ” It may end up being the final title, but that’s what’s written on the front page of my script… I’m right in the middle of [the first draft]. There are no set dates for shooting yet.  I think we’re waiting until we have a first draft screenplay and then go from there. I don’t know [when it will be in theaters], depends how fast I write, I guess.  There’s no set date yet but hopefully we’ll have an announcement for that soon.”

Of course, it’s one thing being titled ‘The Final Chapter’, but it’s another thing it actually being the final chapter. Just ask the Friday the 13th franchise…

Are you looking forward to Resident Evil 6, or has the franchise run its course?
