Rotten Tomatoes is delaying the release of its Justice League score

November 14, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The reveal of Justice League’s Rotten Tomatoes score has been delayed.

Rotten Tomatoes  which aggregates review scores for movies, giving each film a subsequent percentage rating and a label of either fresh or rotten, has delayed its Justice League score, pushing it back until a day before the film’s release.

This is likely to raise one or two eyebrows and may indicate that fans should embrace for a less than desirable score.

There is no indication, however, that Warner Bros. had anything to do with the delay, but it’s fair to note that the studio does have an ownership stake in Rotten Tomatoes’ parent company Fandango.

Also noteworthy is that WB has set the review embargo for Justice League to be lifted on November 15th, incredibly close to the film’s release on November 17th.

Even excluding the RT delay, the late embargo lift doesn’t look good for Justice League, especially considering that films in the DCEU have had mixed results with critics, with Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman not faring well at all.

We’ll have two reviews up early tomorrow.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West, Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf, and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) and Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
