Rumour: Brainiac to feature in Justice League rather than Man of Steel 2

September 17, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this week Heroic Hollywood churned out some rumours about the potential Man of Steel sequel, claiming that Brainiac, Supergirl and Bizarro will all appear in Man of Steel 2, despite the fact that the project has no director, no script, and no official green light as of yet.

Well, according to Birth.Movies.Death, “a lot of this stuff is scrapped now”, as there’s chatter than Brainiac will feature as the main villain in the two-part DC ensemble Justice League, which is set to arrive in 2017 and 2019, and that essentially Superman’s solo franchise is now dead.

So, if you’re trying to keep track, we’ve had rumours that George Miller will direct Man of Steel 2 and that it’s moving ahead, rumours that Man of Steel 2 is on “permanent hold”, and now these rumours about Brainiac being in Man of Steel 2, or in Justice League.

So, it’s all a bit murky, and given all the conflicting reports, the only thing that seems clear at this point is that some – if not all – of these rumours are little more than guesswork.
