Rumour: Justice League to feature war with Atlantis rather than Darkseid

April 4, 2016 by Gary Collinson

With production on Justice League Part One set to get underway next week, El Mayimbe of Heroic Hollywood is back with some alleged details on Zack Snyder’s next DC offering.

Rather than having the League battling Darkseid – as set up by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Mayimbe claims that the film will see a war erupting between Atlantis and the Amazons of Themyscira, with the Atlanteans serving as the antagonists. Oh, and Batman will debut his Batsub…

Justice League Part One is set for release between Wonder Woman and Aquaman, so it’s certainly possible that those movies could serve as bookends the war, with Darkseid then featuring in Justice League Part Two.

It should also be noted that Mayimbe pulls the rather convenient “don’t hold me to task if things get rewritten” get-out clause, which is surely pretty unlikely given that filming gets underway in a week. So, equally, don’t be surprised if this turns out to be just one of the many fabricated Justice League rumours we can expect over the coming months…
