SDCC: Ben McKenzie says Jim Gordon “might become another iconic DC character” in Gotham season 3

July 24, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Following the Gotham panel at the San Diego Comic-Con – which saw the release of a season three teaser, which you can watch here – TV Line caught up with the cast to discuss the new season of the Batman prequel series, and in the process Ben McKenzie may have dropped a rather big spoiler concerning the future of his character Jim Gordon.

“Yours truly might become another iconic DC character at the middle of the season, at the end of the season, ” said McKenzie, when asked for a juicy scoop. “He might take on the persona of a different character… that’s an exclusive, and I might have just gone too far.”

So, what persona could Gordon adopt? The obvious answer is Batman, given that the character has taken on the role of the Dark Knight in the comic books recently. However, that would certainly be a huge shift from the tradition Batman mythos, and one that’s sure to stir some controversy amongst fans if it turns out to be the case.

Any other suggestions? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
