After debuting a poster earlier this week, Warner Bros. has now unveiled the first trailer for Shaft, a follow-up to both the original 1971 blaxploitation classic and the 2000 sequel, which features three generations of Shaft in Richard Roundtree’s John Shaft, Samuel L. Jackson’s John Shaft II and Jessie T. Usher’s John ‘JJ’ Shaft III. Check it out here…
Shaft is directed by Tim Story and sees Samuel L. Jackson, Jessie T. Usher and Richard Roundtree joined in the cast by Regina Hall (Girls Trip), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse), Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse), Method Man (The Deuce), Matt Lauria (Kingdom) and Luna Lauren Vélez (Dexter). The film will open in the United States on June 14th, with Netflix distributing it internationally.
