Sigourney Weaver to play the villain in Marvel’s The Defenders, Deborah Ann Woll confirmed for The Punisher

October 9, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Last night Marvel Television held its Iron Fist panel at New York Comic-Con, the climax of which saw Marvel bringing out The Defenders – Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) – to the stage, along with Sigourney Weaver, who was confirmed as playing the villain in the superhero team-up.

“Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever! She is by definition a class act,” said Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb, with Netflix’s Cindy Holland adding: “Sigourney Weaver, what more is there to say. She’s a formidable actress and we are thrilled to have her join our remarkable cast alongside Charlie, Krysten, Mike and Finn.”
