Following its Cannes premiere earlier this month, MUBI has shared a new trailer for writer-director Jane Schoenbrun’s (I Saw the TV Glow) upcoming slasher Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.
Hannah Einbinder stars as Kris, a young director who finds herself dragged into a world of delirium and sexual chaos while attempting to a slasher franchise, after meeting with its original star, the now-reclusive actress Billy (Gillian Anderson).
Joining Einbinder and Anderson in the cast are Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Kevin McDonald, Quintessa Swindell, and Jack Haven.
After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original movie’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.
