Marking Star Wars Day, May the 4th, Lucasfilm has given fans a new look at the next instalment of the franchise as we travel back to the age before The Phantom Menace for the live-action High Republic-era series Star Wars: The Acolyte.

Described as a mystery-thriller and taking place 100 years prior to the start of the Skywalker Saga, the series has been created by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) and features Amandla Stenberg (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game), Dafne Keen (Logan) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) among its cast. Take a look at the new poster, trailer and promotional images here ahead of the series’ premiere next month…

In “The Acolyte,” an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….

Star Wars: The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
