Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands Splinter Cell special mission and free weekend

April 12, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands received the first update of the second year post launch content on 10th April.  Titled Special Operation I, the update includes a Splinter Cell themed mission which features Sam Fisher voiced by the legendary Michael Ironside.  Ubisoft have also announced the free weekend which takes place 12th April to the 15th April for all platforms.

With the game’s new update there is a whole heap of Splinter Cell content introduced into the Ghost Recon Wildlands game and includes a new Ghost War PvP mode, new team customisation, five mode exclusive maps and several special PvE missions.  The new customisation will be the special  and includes items such as the Karambit Knife and the fully customisable SC 4000 prototype Splinter Cell assault rifle.

The update also introduces Echelon, a new assault class available in all PvP modes.  This new addition has access to high tech equipment as well as the Sonar Pulse ability and will expand the Ghost War roster to 18 unique classes.

Although the mission will always remain active in the game there are a number of exclusive reward items, such as Sam’s iconic sonar goggles, available to those players completing the new mission BEFORE 16th May.

“We are all super excited to bring such an iconic character as Sam Fisher into Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” said Nouredine Abboud, Senior Producer at Ubisoft. “Teaming up with Sam Fisher will require the Ghosts’ stealth, cleverness and tactics…we can’t wait to see the reactions of our players as they face this new challenge!”

If you’re yet to try out Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands then now is the time to give it a whirl.
