Torchwood: Legacy full-cast audio drama coming in 2027

June 20, 2026 by Andrew Newton

The regular range of Torchwood audio dramas may have come to an end, but 2027’s September and October will see many of the series’ beloved characters continue to defend the Earth in the miniseries Torchwood: Legacy. There’s also a little teaser trailer to be seen below…

Releasing across two audio drama box sets, Torchwood: Legacy volumes 1 and 2 will tell an epic story spanning many eras of the Torchwood Institute’s rich history. Each volume in the series will feature six 30-minute-long episodes.

In Volume 1: The Living Will Fall, due for release in September 2027, Ace (Sophie Aldred) needs Torchwood’s help. There’s a super-weapon active in the sky, the billionaires have gone missing, and a forgotten Nazi secret has several sinister forces fighting to obtain it. This volume will feature the following six adventures:

  • Cornucopia by Tim Foley
  • Meet Lonely by James Goss
  • Yvonne Hartman’s Ultimate Weapon by Gareth David-Lloyd
  • The Corn Mother by William Carroll
  • Hitler’s Last Secret by James Goss
  • Pangea by Ash Darby

In Volume 2: The Dead Shall Rise, arriving in October 2027, everything has gone wrong for Torchwood. The night is closing in on the Institute, leaving our heroes nowhere to run. The six adventures in this volume are:

  • Roberta’s Gone to Iceland by Guy Adams
  • What It Is to Lose by Tim Foley
  • Viking Funeral by Guy Adams
  • Hullaballoo by Ash Darby
  • Torchwood’s Last Stand by Patrick O’Connor
  • Rainbow Bridge by James Goss

So far, the ensemble cast includes many familiar names, including Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto Jones, Sophie Aldred as Ace, Tom Price as Andy Davidson, Kai Owen as Rhys Williams, Tracy-Ann Oberman as Yvonne Hartman, Paul Clayton as Mr Colchester, Samuel Barnett as Norton Folgate, Samantha Béart as Orr, Alexandria Riley as Ng, Jonny Green as Tyler Steele, Louise Jameson as Roberta Craven, Dan Starkey as Kreg, and Jordan Renzo as Mr Lonely. More names will be announced in the future.

Torchwood: Legacy Volumes 1 and 2 can be pre-ordered now in a multibuy bundle for £38 for the download.
