Henry Cavill talks about Ben Affleck’s casting in Batman vs. Superman

December 2, 2013 by admin

We said a few days ago that news from the Batman vs. Superman camp has been quiet while talking about the Kent Farm photos, so it’s about time someone came out in an interview to talk about the “controversial” casting of Ben Affleck as The Dark Knight.

While promoting The Man From U.N.C.L.E. with Total Film, Superman himself Henry Cavill talks about Batfleck and, as you’d imagine, it’s the usual comments you’ve already heard.

“I’m sure he’ll be fantastic, above all else, and as a filmmaker he’s got his own style, you know, he’s not copying anyone else. And he’s also sort of been tenacious in his career. He’s had ups followed by downs and now he’s very up again and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character, and it’s something I enjoy working with because jobs like this require a strength of character. They require a dedication to the work and a belief in oneself and Ben has that, clearly.”

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is currently in production and also features Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger), Hugh Grant (Love Actually), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby), and Alicia Vikander (Anna Karenina). The movie is being directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes).

Batman vs. Superman is set for release in a packed 2015 and will also feature Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.
