After recently securing roles in the DC shows Gotham and The Flash, Morena Baccarin is now turning her hand to Marvel, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that the former Firefly star has nabbed the female lead in 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool.
Baccarin was one of several actresses on the shortlist for the role, with Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black), Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf), Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Red Band Society), Sarah Greene (Vikings) and Jessica De Gouw (Arrow) all reported to have tested.

Deadpool is being directed by Tim Miller, and sees Ryan Reynolds reprising the role of the Merc with the Mouth alongside Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6) and T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction).
