Avengers: Infinity War has a reported budget of $1 billion

October 9, 2015 by admin

Well it looks like Marvel Studios are going hard or going home when it comes to their two part Avengers: Infinity War films for 2018 and 2019, with a new report suggesting the budget for both movies will be a whopping $1 billion.

Seeing as the joint budget for both previous Avengers outings was $470, this is quite a step up. With that said, the joint takings for both films was just under $3 billion, so it’s a risk Marvel could easily make. The report also suggests that $400 million of that budget will be spent on directors, stars and writers alone, so it looks like we can expect quite a big cast for the ensemble movie which is set to be directed by The Russo Brothers (Captain America: Civil War).

For comparison, let’s break down how much the previous Marvel movies have cost:

Ant-Man – $130 million
Captain America: The First Avengers – $140 million
Iron Man – $140 million
Incredible Hulk – $150 million
Thor – $150 million
Thor: The Dark World – $170 million
Captain America: The Winter Soldier – $170 million
Guardians of the Galaxy – $170 million
Iron Man 2 – $200 million
Iron Man 3 – $200 million
The Avengers – $220 million
Avengers: Age of Ultron – $250 million
