10 Justice League Scenes That Were Not in the Movie

November 18, 2017 by Red Stewart

6) Close up of the Batmobile bullet casing

One of director Zack Snyder’s signature traits is slo-mo. He popularized it during 300, and made use of it even more in his adaptation of Watchmen. Both Man of Steel and Batman v Superman were surprisingly free of it, but he brought it back during some of the action scenes in Justice League, mostly those revolving around The Flash. But there was one other scene in the final trailer, and that was of the Batmobile fighting through a barrage of Parademons through missiles and machine gun fire. One of the casings from a particular bullet is depicted as falling in slow motion from the car before hitting the ground with a “clink”.

7) Bruce Staring at a Superman hologram

Bruce Wayne’s regret over his treatment of Superman in Batman v Superman was hinted at in the very end of the movie wherein he punches the wall of Luthor’s prison after the latter points out how “God” is dead.

This idea was explored more in Justice League wherein Bruce severely laments over the loss of this alien he wrongly demonized. In the trailers, one shot showed Wayne sadly staring at what was presumably a hologram or imaginary vision of Superman. Definitely would have added to his regret.

8) Who was Alfred talking to?

One thing that caught everyone’s attention in the second trailer was the very end wherein Alfred is working on something in the Batcave when he notices someone approaching him. Alfred tells this anonymous entity that “He said you’d come…now, let’s hope that you’re not too late.”

Many fans speculated over the identity, but from seeing the movie it seems clear that it was Superman. Why this scene was removed will be up for debate.

9) Cyborg Saving People

Cyborg was not given much screen time in terms of action. Throughout the movie, his role is primarily one of driving the narrative forward as he is the only individual that can interface with the Mother Boxes that Steppenwolf is after. But that was not what was indicated at all in the trailers. In fact, he apparently had two action beats that were removed: one where he blasts some rubble about to fall on a couple with his sonic cannon, and another where he saves a cop from a kinetic police car.

10) Barry shattering the glass/Iris West

During the post-production, there was a rumor that Joss Whedon had removed three characters from Snyder’s initial rough cut: Deathstroke, Lex Luthor, and Iris West. Luckily for fans, this proved false for the first two as they appeared in a post-credits scene that presumably set-up the Injustice League for a potential Justice League sequel.

But Iris, played by Kiersey Clemons, was sadly not given the same treatment. She can clearly be seen in the reflection of a glass window that Barry accidentally shatters while accessing the Speed Force.
