Killing Eve and A Very English Scandal dominate BAFTA’s 2019 British Academy Television Awards nominations

BAFTA has announced the nominations for the 2019 British Academy Television Awards, with the BBC’s Killing Eve leading the field with fourteen nominations in total.

The series will contest the Best Drama Series award alongside Bodyguard, Save Me and Informer, and both Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh are nominated for Best Leading Actress in addition to Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard) and Ruth Wilson (Mrs Wilson).

Meanwhile, A Very English Scandal garnered twelve nominations including Best Mini-Series, where it is up against Kiri, Mrs Wilson and Patrick Melrose, while Hugh Grant (A Very English Scandal), Benedict Cumberbatch (Patrick Melrose), Lucian Msamati (Kiri) and Chance Perdomo (Killed By My Debt) are up for Best Leading Actor.
