The Marvels gets delayed until November, first poster released

February 17, 2023 by Gary Collinson

It looks like we’re going to have to wait a little longer to see Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers teaming with Iman Villani’s Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, as Marvel has pushed back the release of the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels from July 28th to November.

We do however have a brand new poster for the Nia DaCosta-directed film featuring our three heroines, who – as teased in the post-credits scene to the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel – will see themselves mysteriously switching places every time they use their powers.

Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as ‘The Marvels.’

The Marvels is directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman) and features a cast that includes Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Zawe Ashton as a mystery villain.

The Marvels is set for release on November 10th.
