27th annual Critics Choice Awards see The Power of the Dog and Ted Lasso dominate

March 14, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Critics of film and television came together to honor the very best in entertainment with the 27th annual Critics Choice Awards. The award show took place on Sunday evening with a joint production based in Beverly Hills with another group in London following the BAFTAS.

Both of the shows shared a few winners like Jane Campion, Will Smith, Ariana DeBose, and Troy Kotsur in their respective categories. Jessica Chastain also showed out at the CCAs with her nabbing another win as she inches closer to an Academy Award for her work in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

On the television side of things, Ted Lasso dominated for the second year in a row, with Best Actor, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress all going to the Apple TV+ series. Fan-favorite and cultural hit Squid Game also had a good outing, bringing home two major awards in the evening.
