3D Realms announces dark fantasy horror FPS WRATH: Aeon of Ruin

March 7, 2019 by Andrew Newton

This summer, 3D Realms, 1C Entertainment and developer KillPixel will be paying homage to the classic era of shooters with their latest title WRATH: Aeon of Ruin.   This dark fantasy horror FPS will give players the chance to explore ancient crypts, sunken ruins and spooky forests with an assortment of traditional and organic weapons.  Check out the new trailer below…

In WRATH: Aeon of Ruin players take the role of the Outlander, a warrior tasked with hunting down the remaining Guardians of the Old World.  Players will need to travel through ancient crypts, temples overflowing with evil and forests swarming with nightmarish creatures to fulfill their task.  To help Outlander in his task there are a variety of traditional weapons to use such as double barreled shotguns, and also organic weapons, including the Retcher and the Fangspitter, which harvest parts of the enemy to use as ammunition.

“WRATH’s dark fantasy horror, core gameplay and classic feel, is something we feel is often imitated, but rarely matched. It’s something sorely missing from today’s games,” said Frederik Schreiber, Vice President of 3D Realms and Producer on WRATH. “Alongside our team of Quake scene developers who are masters of their craft, and the game visionary, Jeremiah ‘KillPixel’ Fox, the haunting journey they are creating is going to be incredible.”

“With the POWER of the legendary original Quake engine, WRATH brings back good memories while at the same time creates greater new ones,” said Nikolay Baryshnikov, CEO of 1C Entertainment.

WRATH: Aeon of Ruin will arrive this summer for Windows, Mac and Linux with an edition for all consoles coming in early 2020.
