Colin Trevorrow won’t return for Jurassic World sequel

June 1, 2015 by Gary Collinson

With the cast and crew of Jurassic World embarking on the press tour ahead of the film’s release next week, director Colin Trevorrow has revealed to BadTaste.it that he won’t be returning to direct the sequel.

“Jurassic Park is like Star Wars. Different directors can give a different taste to each movie,” states Trevorrow. “I would be involved in some way, but not as director.”

As yet, there’s been no official confirmation on a follow-up to Jurassic World, but with the film tracking a $100 million plus opening at the North American box office, a fifth instalment in the dino franchise seems like a certainty.

Who would you like to see coming in to direct a Jurassic Park movie? Let us know in the comments below…

Jurassic World is released on June 11th in the UK and June 12th in the States, and stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howward (The Help), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi), Jake Johnson (New Girl), Ty Simpkins (Iron Man 3), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), B.D. Wong (Jurassic Park) and Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).
