Patrick Stewart hinting at a Star Trek: Discovery guest role?

June 10, 2018 by Gary Collinson

It’s been sixteen years since we saw Patrick Stewart in the Star Trek franchise, but speculation is now running wild that the actor could be set for a guest-starring role in CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery.

The source of all the excitement is a brief interview from Red Carpet News, where Stewart was asked whether he’d seen the latest iteration of the franchise and responded: “No, I haven’t. But I may have good course to look at it very soon.”

You can watch the interview for yourself here…

Despite the 100 year plus gap between the events of Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: The Next Generation, there are of course any number of story possibilities as to how Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard could feature in the new series, and a guest-starring role would surely prove hugely exciting to fans. However, Stewart’s comments are far from confirmation of an appearance, so we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed…
