Evangeline Lilly can’t wait to return as The Wasp in the MCU

June 26, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Even though Ant-Man and the Wasp isn’t quite with us just yet, Evangeline Lilly can’t wait to play the Wasp in another Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.

Ant-Man was a well-received entry into the MCU, if not a little overshadowed by some of its Marvel colleagues. Its sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, has a lot of people very excited, however, especially because of Evangeline Lilly’s central performance as the Wasp.

Lilly has had a great time playing the part and is apparently already eyeing up her next appearance in the franchise, telling ComicBook.com that she can’t wait to play the part once more:

“I have been thinking the exact same thing, and now that it’s finally done and dusted, now that I’ve seen the movie and I can kind of, ‘Whew,’ like, ‘I did it. It’s over. Now, the immediate question is when do I get to do it again?”

Lilly and her Ant-Man co-star Paul Rudd will be joining the rest of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in next year’s Avengers 4, but presumably that won’t be the last we see of Hope Van Dyne in the MCU.

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes Ant-Man and The Wasp, a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a super hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

Ant-Man and The Wasp sees Peyton Reed returning to the director’s chair and stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michael Pena (Luis), David Dastmalchian (Kurt), Abby Ryder Fortson (Cassie Lang), Judy Greer (Maggie), Bobby Cannavale (Paxton) and T.I. (Dave), while new additions to the cast include Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster/Goliath, Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.
