Quake Champions’ October update now live

October 13, 2018 by Andrew Newton

The October Game Update is now live for Bethesda’s Quake Champions.  This new update features an epic new game mode called Slipgate, a limited time event, a new champion and much more.  You can learn more about the limited time event and the champion in the trailer below…

The new Slipgate Mode is an attack and defend mode that will see two teams fight over a massive wormhole called the Slipgate portal.  This portal is capable of summoning an ancient unnamed horror with the defending team attempting to summon while the attacking team must close the gate before the something with many tentacles and teeth can come through to our dimension.

The limited time Slipgate Festival event will run from October 11th until the 31st with those taking part from day one immediately receiving the Tentacle Weapon Shaders for all starting weapons.  Other milestone events will reward participants with the Quake 4 Heavy Machine Gun skin, the Ranger or Scalebearer Lore Skin and Athena or her Lore skin if Athena is already owned.

The new champion, Athena, was among the first to sign up to the GDF in order to seek revenge against the Strogg.  Athena uses her grapple line throws and aerial acrobatics to help rain death down upon her enemies.

The new update for Quake Champions is live now.
