Jason Momoa explains how Zack Snyder’s Justice League would have led into Aquaman

December 8, 2018 by Gary Collinson

While it seems increasingly unlikely that we’ll ever get to see the fabled Snyder Cut of Justice League, we do keep getting little snippets of information about what Zack Snyder had planned for the DC ensemble, and now Aquaman star Jason Momoa has revealed how the film would have set up the upcoming Arthur Curry solo movie.

“In Zack’s cut, we had it where I was with Vulko and Mera and I say that I have to go home and they say there’s this force coming that I need to help,” said Momoa. “I’m like, ‘I’m going home to see my dad,’ and so I get in the back of a pickup truck and pound a bottle of something and off he goes, the wanderer, you know what I mean? And so that was kind of the end of Justice League where I was going and then you cut to me coming home and run into a submarine.”

Would you have liked to have seen that scene in Justice League, or was it the right decision to leave it on the cutting room floor? Let us know in the comments…

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman”, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be … a king.”

Aquaman is directed by James Wan (The Conjuring) and stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, reprising his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Ludi Lin as Murk, Michael Beach as Jesse Kane, Djimon Hounsou as the Fisherman King, Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin, Otis Dhanji as a young Arthur Curry, Julie Andrews as Karathen and Graham McTavish in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on December 14th in the UK and December 21st in North America.
