Lou Ferrigno Jr. cast as Hourman in DC Universe’s Stargirl

December 14, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Following yesterday’s news that Joel McHale (Community) has been cast as Starman in Stargirl, we now have another new addition to the cast of the upcoming DC Universe live-action series.

TV Line is reporting that Lou Ferrigno Jr. (S.W.A.T.), son of the original Incredible Hulk, has signed on to portray Rex Tyler, a.k.a. Hourman, one of the original founding members of the Justice Society of America.

Stargirl follows High School sophomore Courtney Whitmore, who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. It is set to reimagine the character and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a “fun, exciting and unpredictable” way.

Brec Bassinger (Bella and the Bulldogs) is set to portray Courtney Whitmore, while the cast also includes Anjelika Washington (Young Sheldon), Yvette Monreal (Matador) and Christopher James Baker (True Detective) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.

Stargirl is slated to hit DC Universe in September 2019.
