Pretty Little Liars’ Drew Van Acker cast as Aqualad in DC’s Titans

June 16, 2019 by Gary Collinson

DC Universe’s Titans is adding another young hero to its roster, with TV Insider reporting that Drew Van Acker (Pretty Little Liars) has been cast as Arthur Curry’s sidekick Garth, a.k.a. Aqualad.

In DC Comics lore, Aqualad is a founding member of the Teen Titans, and former protege to Aquaman, possessing the same Atlantean abilities as his mentor. His appearance in Titans will be the first time that the character has been portrayed in live-action.

Van Acker becomes the latest new addition to the cast of Titans for its second season, joining Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) as Bruce Wayne, Joshua Orpin (The Black Mysteries: Ghost Stories) as Clark Kent/Superboy, Esai Morales (Ozark) as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, Chella Man as Joseph Wilson/Jericho, Chelsea Zhang (Andi Mack) as Rose Wilson/Ravager, and Natalie Gumede (Doctor Who) as Mercy Graves.

The show newcomers join returning series regulars Brenton Thwaites (Robin), Anna Diop (Starfire), Ryan Potter (Beast Boy), Teagan Croft (Raven) and Curran Walters (Jason Todd) in the second season of Titans, which is expected to arrive on DC Universe late this year.
