Marvel’s Loki series will tie in to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness

November 9, 2019 by Gary Collinson

During Marvel’s Phase Four announcement at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that the upcoming WandaVision TV series will serve as a lead-in to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and it seems that the Elizabeth Olsen series won’t be the only required Disney+ viewing alongside the Doctor Strange sequel.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige reiterated that events from the slate of Disney+ shows will factor into the movies going forward, before revealing that the Tom Hiddleston-headlined Loki will also be connected to Multiverse of Madness: “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before… but it does.”

The Loki series will see Tom Hiddleston reprising the role of Avengers: Endgame’s alternate version of the God of Mischief, and “will follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events.”

At this point, it’s not clear whether this means Hiddleston will feature in the cast of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong and Elizabeth Olsen (or if any of the Doctor Strange cast will feature in the Loki series, for that matter). But, with both these and WandaVision due in Spring 2021, it may be some time before we get any further casting news and details on the trio of projects.
