Tokyo Dark -Remembrance- arrives on Playstation 4

January 11, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Unties and developer Cherrymochi have announced the release of their anime-style murder mystery, Tokyo Dark -Remembrance-, on the Playstation 4.  This new title merges visual novel and adventure features to provide crime-riddled and gritty gaming experience.  A new launch trailer can be seen below…

Tokyo Dark -Remembrance- is an anime style adventure that sees players investigate the disappearance of Detective Ito Ayami’s partner as well as a series of strange symbols and the mysterious masked figure that have started popping up across the city.  Taking the role of detective Ito Ayami, players will search the city’s seedy underbelly and locate her friend and uncover the secret of the occult symbols.

All decisions and actions made by the player are tracked by the S.P.I.N (Sanity, Professionalism, Investigation, Neurosis) system, and will affect character interactions and available story paths.  Sticking to the rules may slow things down but will keep her in good standing with her fellow police officers and is less likely to turn the citizens hostile.

Featuring:

  • Branching story with 11 different endings (including a NewGame+ exclusive ending).
  • Difficult decisions, every action affects Detective Itō’s attributes and options.
  • Beautiful anime-style character art, with locations inspired by real locations in Tokyo.
  • Original soundtrack by Reign of Fury front man Matt ‘Bison’ Steed.
  • Animated sequences produced by Graphinica, a world-class animation studio.
  • Localization by Japanese novelist Ureshino Kimi.
  • The S.P.I.N (Sanity, Professionalism, Investigation, Neurosis) system keeps track of every decision you make, changing how other characters react and the actions available to you.

“Tokyo Dark -Remembrance- emphasizes balancing opposing forces mechanically, visually and thematically,” said John Davis, G&R Representative, UNTIES. “The developers have perfected the core ideas with the Switch and upcoming PlayStation 4 releases, taking Ito’s journey to even more chilling places with innovative systems tracking every in-game action.”

Tokyo Dark -Remembrance- is available now on the Playstation Store.
