James Wan produced Salem’s Lot remake will swoop into theaters this September

April 23, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

In this time of streaming deals and theatrical release date reshuffles, news has emerged that the vampires of Salem’s Lot will finally swoop onto the big-screen when the James Wan produced remake of the Stephen King classic gets an exclusive theatrical release on September 9th.

Warner Bros. adaptation of the 1975 horror novel will be the first time this story has made it to the big-screen, with the previous adaptations, including the really-rather-excellent Tobe Hooper directed 1979 movie, being made for television.

Directed by Gary Dauberman (Annabelle Comes Home), this version of the story features Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale) as Ben Mears, a writer who returns to his home town of Jerusalem’s Lot, only to find it under threat from a community of vampires.

Joining Pullman will be Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) as the villainous Richard Straker, Makenzie Leigh (The Assistant) as love-interest Susan Norton, Bill Camp (The Queen’s Gambit) as former high school teacher Matthew Burke, and Spencer Treat Clark (Glass) as gravedigger Mike Ryerson, and Alfre Woodard (Clemency) as Dr. Cody.

Bloody Disgusting hint that a trailer release could be imminent, but until then let us know what you think of this Salem’s Lot news by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
