British actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers wanted for Star Wars: Episode VII

April 10, 2014 by Gary Collinson

The Hollywood Reporter isn’t usually one for rumours, but when it comes to Star Wars: Episode VII, rumours are pretty much all we’ve had since Disney purchased Lucasfilm back in October 2012 and announced a new Star Wars trilogy was in the works.

Well, according to the site, unknown British actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers “is in line to nab an undisclosed and possibly major role in the high-profile Disney/Lucasfilm production, which is in the middle of an extended casting search in London in advance of a May production start date.”

While no role is mentioned, the report does go on to highlight previous talk that Lucasfilm is seeking “a young black or mixed-race woman who may be a descendent of Jedi Knight Ben Kenobi.”

Star Wars: Episode VII is set for release on December 18th 2015, with the likes of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Peter Mayhew rumoured to be returning alongside Girls star Adam Driver as the new villain.
