Penny Blood: Hellbound v1.0 unleashes hell on Steam

December 19, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Following on from its successful Early Access release of Penny Blood: Hellbound back in March, Studio Wildrose, NatsumeAtari and TTS Products have announced the game’s full version 1.0 release.  The developers have also released a brand-new trailer (see below) providing a glimpse into the final chapter of this macabre gothic action roguelite.

Penny Blood: Hellbound invites players to unleash all Hell in the world of Penny Blood.  Players will take control of six different anarchists known as the Hellhounders, as they attempt to break out of a strange interdimensional prison run by the vicious and enigmatic Celestial Rainbow gang.  Each of the six characters has their own unique skills and abilities which players will have to master in order to gather malice, and also forge powerful alliances to become stronger.

This gothic roguelite is set against a backdrop of the Roaring 20s and leads players through some of the societal changes that followed World War 1. As well as the historical setting, there are also NPCs and big bosses that have been inspired by real-world history and true crime events.

The full version of Penny Blood: Hellbound features plenty of new content and enhancements, including:

  • A brand-new area to explore. This final new location is the most challenging and will push players to their limits.
  • Confront the final, terrifying leader of the Celestial Rainbows.
  • Vito, a new playable character, arrives and provides a new playstyle.
  • Each of the six playable characters can now unlock a third weapon.
  • Two new dungeon NPCs – Padre is a man of the cloth with a fiery personality; and Z14, a creature with a deep grudge against the Void Wizard.
  • Expanded quests and story scenes providing an additional degree of narrative depth.
  • A thrilling conclusion to the main story, complete with cinematic scenes.
  • New unlockable achievements.
  • Balancing for both single player and online multiplayer modes.
  • Hidden surprises for those brave enough to seek them out.

Penny Blood: Hellbound v1.0 is available now on Steam with a 20% launch discount for a limited time.
