Firefly Studios has released Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition, their expanded remaster of their 2002 classic medieval castle strategy, on Steam. This remaster, overhauled by the original game’s veteran developers, brings the excitement of the game’s original story along with fresh gameplay content to today’s generation of gamers. Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition provides players with a journey to the battlefields and fortresses of the medieval crusader lands. Hot deserts and green oases await those who would defend their lands from vicious and merciless enemies, such as The Rat, The Pig and The Wolf, along with Arabian enemies The Caliph and The Sultan. There are also 4 new AI opponents to conquer, and these will use new tactics and castle designs in an attempt to defeat players.
With the new definitive edition, players will see remastered artwork and animations, enjoy beautifully recreated music and challenge themselves with fresh gameplay content, including fan-requested improvements such as larger maps.
As well as the original story, players will also be able to enjoy 2 new historical campaigns and 4 ‘Sands of Time’ skirmish trails and even join up with a friend in the brand-new co-op trail.
