Jar Jar Binks lobbies Ron Howard for role in the Han Solo Stars Wars spinoff in latest Funny or Die video

June 25, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Earlier in the week it was announced that Phil Lord and Chris Miller had been fired from the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff film due to creative differences. Essentially, they had gone way too far down the comedic route, which honestly should have been expected when they were hired, but I digress.

Everyone on the Internet has an opinion and they’re letting it be known on the news that Ron Howard will be taking over directorial duties on the project. And now, in a new Funny or Die video, an anonymous being that is totally not Jar Jar Binks is asking us to give the director a chance. This unknown person also thinks this movie is the perfect opportunity to bring back Jar Jar Binks. Check out the hilarity below…

SEE ALSO: Lucasfilm were right to hire a new Han Solo director, but it’s their fault, not Lord and Miller’s

Let us know below if you would like to see Jar Jar Binks… oh who am I kidding, no one wants to see him return in anything Star Wars related. Now Jar Jar Binks in Saw 8, there’s an idea.

On a serious note, perhaps we seriously should give Ron Howard a chance before blowing a fuse on the Internet.

Han Solo stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) as the famous smuggler, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Beckett (Solo’s mentor), Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Ian Kenny (Sing Street) and Michael K. Williams (The Night Of) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on May 25th 2018.
