More details on The Batman in the DCEU, Justice League Dark problems, Green Goblin in Silver & Black and more – Daily News Roundup

WILL HE WON’T HE?

Right, let’s try and get to the bottom of this. The confusion over The Batman‘s place in the DCEU was thrown into quandary this week when director Matt Reeves revealed that the film wasn’t part of the extended universe. This came off the heels of it being announced that Warner Bros. were developing a Joker movie that wasn’t part of the DCEU, as well as a Joker and Harley movie that is part of the DCEU. Well, Reeves has taken to Twitter to clarify his comments, and has said The Batman WILL be part of the DECU. Read more here.

SHALL WE BEGIN?

Adam Wingard’s Western adaptation of Death Note hits Netflix today after premiering at London’s FrightFest last night, and the director has revealed that it could be part of a larger world. “When I went to Netflix, I pitched it as a multiple-film series, because really, this is the tip of the iceberg,” he told The Verge. “It also still works as a closed loop. I think the movie thematically says everything it needs to say in the context of this film. But there’s a lot of places to go with the characters and the background that’s only hinted at here through some esoteric symbolism. It’s purposely mysterious, and there are plenty of places to go with that. So I’d love to see where these characters go. Especially because everybody’s so damaged by the end of the film, which is a cool place for a comic-book movie to go, and not a conventional place to end.” Read more here.

JUSTICE LEAGUE WHEN

The long-gestating Justice League Dark has gone through several directors and writers over the years, and Variety’s Justin Kroll has revealed that Warner Bros. are going back to the drawing board after being underwhelmed by recent director pitches. Read more here.

THE COMING OF WARLOCK

Adam Warlock’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was teased at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and director James Gunn has been talking about his first appearance and interestingly notes he may not feature in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Read more here.

OSCORP IN THE SPIDERVERSE

At this point, it would be easier to create a list of characters that aren’t rumoured to appear in Silver & Black, but a new rumour from The Hashtag Show has revealed that Norman Osborn could feature in the Spider-Man spin-off. The rumour claims that he likely won’t appear on screen and will instead be represented by Charles Standish, Osborn Chemicals Senior Vice President. Read more here.

CONGRATS MARKY MARK

Transformers: The Last Knight star Mark Wahlberg has topped Forbes list of highest paid actors in Hollywood, knowing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson down to second place. Read more here.
