Update 0.6.12 brings Halloween to World of Warships

October 19, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Halloween fast approaches and what better way for World of Warships to celebrate it than with a special Halloween event.  This event, along with Clan Battles, Tier X Ship Rentals and Deepwater Torpedoes can be found in update 0.6.12 which is available now.  Watch the new video below detailing the update hosted, as always, by the lovely Dasha Perova

Halloween is celebrated this year by World of Warships by sending ship commanders on the hunt for monsters in the ‘Saving Transylvania’ event.  This Halloween event is a sequel to last years event and will see players defending the waters of the Silver Spear Archipelago from invasion by the Forces of Darkness.  This event will be available during the first week after the release of the update 0.6.12 and then for the duration of Release 0.6.12 but only for teams assembled by players.  From the start of the second week players will gain access to the second part of the event, ‘A Light In The Dark’. More news on this will follow.

Each part of the event will provide access to 3 unique warships.  Those available for ‘Saving Transyvania’ include:

  • Blade, a destroyer helmed by Commander Abraham V. Hellsinger
  • Jackal, a battleship helmed by Commander Henry J. Hide
  • Igor, a cruiser helmed by Commander Victor F. Einstein

Unique warships available during ‘A Light In The Dark’ event:

  • Urashima, a destroyer helmed by Commander Mina Hurray
  • Svyatozar, a cruiser helmed by Commander Ivan K. Ulibin
  • Magnu-S, a battleship helmed by Commander Klaus V. Teslau
  • Nobilium, an aircraft carrier helmed by Commander Lazarus Centurio

Two new ports will be available for this update, Halloween 2016 and Halloween 2017.  These ports have been decorated for the duration of the Halloween event.

A new battle mode will arrive with update 0.6.12 called Clan Battles.  This new mode will allows clans to fight each other in 7v7 format with Tier X ships.  Players will need to take part in battles to rise through the leagues with league ratings altering depending on victories or defeats.  A clan can only have 1 battleship and no aircraft carriers and can only take part in a battle if a representative of the Clan’s senior command (officers not allowed) act as that squad’s leader.  Four leagues are available to rise through, Squall League, Gale League, Storm League, Typhoon League with each league consisting of three groups.

Update 0.6.12 will allow players to ‘rent’ a Tier X ship providing that players has played a Random or Clan Battle in a Tier VIII-X ship.  These 3 ships will be available for the first 3 weeks of clan battles after which time they will be removed and replaced with a different set of 3.  Players will be able to try 9 different Tier X ships during the season 1 of Clan Battles.  When these ships are added to a player’s port they will come with a temporary Port Slot that will be removed when the ship is.

Players will gain access to Deepwater Torpedoes in this latest update.  These torpedoes will now engage targets depending on the type of a ship locked on.  If the deepwater torpedoes cannot hit the ship locked on then the “Impossible to hit target” indicator will appear.
