January 17, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Scribblenauts fans are in for a treat this March as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that Scribblenauts Showdown will be coming to the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4.  Scribblenauts Showdown features all the classic gameplay of the original plus two new party game modes for one to four players.  Watch the new announcement trailer below…

Scribblenauts Showdown features several family friendly game modes where players of all ages and skill levels can go head to head.  In the Sandbox mode, 1-2 players can enjoy the familiar gameplay of solving objectives in eight new levels by summoning any object they can imagine and watching them interact in unexpected ways.  In the game’s Versus mode two players will go head to head through more than 25 mini games although these mini games can also be played in single player.  Finally, in the game’s Showdown mode, up to four players can take each other on in card based strategy and creative skill over a board game style map that displays a players’ progress.

“Scribblenauts™ Showdown delivers imaginative fun and the humour that Scribblenauts™ fans love with new social elements to challenge friends and family,” said Steven Chiang, Executive Vice President, Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Players of all skill levels will enjoy testing their creativity in the fast-paced, head-to-head party style gameplay.”

As well as an extensive dictionary of over 30,000 words, Scribblenauts Showdown will also allow players to design their own Scribblenaut and customise them with unique clothing and quirky accessories.

Scribblenauts Showdown will be available for consoles on the 9th March.
