NYCC: LEGO to release Jurassic World sets next year

October 11, 2014 by Gary Collinson

During the New York Comic Con, it has been announced that Universal and The LEGO Group are partnering up to release a selection of lego sets based upon next year’s hotly-anticipated fourth instalment of the Jurassic Park franchise Jurassic World.

“Jurassic Park defined dinosaurs for an entire generation 20 years ago, and Jurassic World will do the same in 2015,” said Universal exec Stephanie Sperber. “Working with LEGO Group to bring this classic into the present in dynamic and exciting ways is truly thrilling.”

“We are thrilled to be a part of the groundbreaking Jurassic Park series,” adds LEGO’s Jill Wilfert. “The film’s imagery and branding are iconic, with a rich array of landscapes, vehicles and dinosaurs that are perfect for inspiring a line of building sets that will encourage hours of creative play.”

Jurassic World is set for release on June 12th 2015, with a cast that includes stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howard (Terminator Salvation), Jake Johnson (New Girl), Vincent D’Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), BD Wong (Jurassic Park), Irrfan Khan (The Amazing Spider-Man), Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), and Lauren Lapkus (Orange is the New Black).
