Fast & Furious 7 overtakes Frozen to become fifth biggest film of all time

April 26, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Despite losing top spot in many international markets this weekend to Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Universal’s Fast & Furious 7 has reached another box office milestone, having overtaken Iron Man 3 ($1.215 billion) and Frozen ($1.274 billion) to become the fifth biggest film of all time.

With $1.321 billion since its release, Furious 7 is now just $20 million shy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in fourth place, and looks like it’s going to push The Avengers ($1.518 billion) hard for third. It is now China’s highest-earner of all time with $323 million, and has pulled in a whopping $1.001 billion from international markets in total, not to mention a $320 million domestic haul.
