Comic Book Preview – Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck #1

January 18, 2026 by Amie Cranswick

Dynamite Entertainment launches its latest Disney crossover series this coming Wednesday with the release of Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck #1; get yourself a sneak peek at the issue below with the official preview…

JUSTICE KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES! Worlds collide as two of the most beloved entries in the legendary Disney Afternoon lineup of animated shows meet for the first time ever in a brand-new title crafted by both series’ original authors!

Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman and Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones join forces with artist Ciro Cangialosi to bring the Defenders of St. Canard and the Manhattan Clan together for an adventure so epic that no single continuity could contain it! After contacting a wary Morgana Macawber through her magic mirror, the scheming Demona whisks the uncooperative sorceress out of St. Canard and into her New York City lair, where she proceeds to grill Morgana for the location of a certain mystical tome with enough eldritch energy to allow Demona to finally conquer the world. Darkwing Duck, of course, isn’t about to take this lying down. As soon as he learns about Morgana’s abduction, DW and his stalwart sidekick Launchpad McQuack are in the air, racing towards the Big Apple to rescue his avian amour. But will the Terror That Flaps in the Night be able to handle the City That Never Sleeps – not to mention the stone guardians who protect it? Find out in the action-packed first issue of Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck, featuring covers by Tad Stones, Ciro Cangialosi, Declan Shalvey, and Ivan Bigarella – as well as an exclusive Blind Bag Variant!

Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck #1 goes on sale on January 21st, priced $4.99.
