Emilia Clarke and George R.R. Martin confirm Jon Snow Game of Thrones sequel series

June 24, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Last week, news broke that HBO is in early development of a Game of Thrones sequel starring Kit Harington, and now both author George R.R. Martin and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke have shared their feelings on the spinoff.

In a June 23 blog post, Martin confirmed that he is writing for the series, which is going by the working title of Snow. The author said actor Harington met with him at his home in Santa Fe and worked with him and his team to “hammer” out the show’s story.

“Yes, it was Kit Harington who brought the idea to us,” Martin said. “I cannot tell you the names of the writers/showrunners since that has not been cleared for release yet, but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific.”

In a separate confirmation, Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke offered up her take on the spin-off in an interview with BBC. The friend of series star Kit Harington said she’s not involved, but the actor has spoken about it with her.

“He has told me about it. And I know it exists. It’s happening,” Clarke said. “It’s been created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he’s in it from the ground up. So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens, is certified by Kit Harington.”

Clarke would add, “No, I think I’m done,” when asked about her interest in playing Daenerys again.

Now, we wait for Harington himself to express his feelings on his own spin-off series. In the meantime, let us know on our social channels whether you’re looking forward to Snow…
