Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery celebrates 8th anniversary with new content and events

April 2, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Eight years ago, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery was released, and since then, there have been millions of players working their way through Hogwarts, completing quests and adventures, and graduating to become full wizards and witches. To celebrate these eight glorious years, there will be a wealth of special content and events for Potter fans to enjoy.

On 15th April, players will be able to continue their adventures as Beyond Hogwarts Volume 3 makes its debut. Players will be able to experience the changes to their personal and professional lives in the conclusion of Volume 2 before venturing into the first chapter of Volume 3.

With the wizarding world in panic due to Sirius Black’s escape from Azkaban, players will find they have bigger problems on their plate due to the rumours of Cursed Vaults hidden beyond the walls of Hogwarts. However, there’s a reunion with the Weasley family in store and possibly even another Potter sighting to look forward to.

For those who are yet to graduate from the prestigious halls of Hogwarts, there’s the opportunity to get a sneak peek at their post-Hogwarts lives by joining Dobby on the Knight Bus in ‘A Knight Out’ Beyond Hogwarts Special Preview. This will have players visiting the Leaky Cauldron and helping Dobby find a job as a free elf.

There’s plenty more to do this anniversary month, starting with logging in now to unlock an 8th Anniversary themed reward that has been customised for each House at Hogwarts. Also, with Earth Day being later this month, players can join Hagrid and Professor Sprout in celebrating the day with in-game giveaways and surprises.

Players can also solve a new Hogwarts Diary Mystery by seeking out the five keys needed to unlock a mysterious chest said to have belonged to Newt Scamander. What’s in the chest? You’ll have to discover where the keys are hidden to find out.

A new special adventure is available, allowing players to join Rowan for a trip to the Khanna Family Farm. But something dark is casting a sinister shadow over the farm and threatening its existence. Can you help the Khanna family save their farm? Other adventures available include helping collect stories and disproving the dark rumours circulating about Professor Dumbledore.

Log in to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and join in the celebrations taking place this April.
