Highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake now available on Playstation 5 and PC

October 8, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Konami Digital Entertainment has announced the launch of the highly anticipated remake of the 2001 psychological horror, Silent Hill 2, on Playstation 5 and PC (via Steam).  Developed by Bloober Team and concept artist Masahiro ito, this remake features enhanced visuals, sounds and gameplay along with a musical score by composer Akira Yamaoka.  Watch the new launch trailer below….

Silent Hill 2 takes gamers, both new and old, into the eerie, fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill as they follow grief-stricken James Sunderland on his personal mission to find his deceased wife after receiving a letter from her.  Follow James as he returns to the place where he and his wife made so many memories only to find a ghost town inhabited by disturbing monsters.

The improvements of this remake allow players to experience this cursed town with all the advantages that ray tracing and other cutting-edge technical enhancements can provide.  Along with a new, immersive soundscape, it will feel as close to being there as it’s possible to be.

This remake will provide players with a much larger environment to explore, with buildings once inaccessible now available to look inside. There’s also the addition of new buildings that players can explore.

The old, trusty weapons of the handgun and steel pipe make their return but there’s now an updated combat system that will allow players to aim down sights or carefully dodge an attack that would otherwise kill.  Combined with the new over-the-shoulder camera perspective, this remake makes fighting monsters more nerve-wracking than ever.

Visit Silent Hill 2 now on Playstation 5 and PC.
