Hitman 3 teased by studio IO Interactive

July 30, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Development may have started, or be soon to start, on the third instalment in the Hitman series that began with Hitman in 2016 and continued with Hitman 2 last year.

The news came from a YouTube documentary hosted by Danny O’Dwyer from NoClip. In the documentary, O’Dwyer states that the team at IO Interactive is “working on new Hitman content, and looking ahead to the third Hitman game.” Whilst this is no official confirmation of a third game, CEO Hakan Abrak and O’Dwyer speak freely about a third Hitman game that may go episodic once again. .

“Hitman is a trilogy. There’s a bright future – there’s this full realization of the whole World of Assassination that we’re looking towards as well,” Abrak says. “The World of Assassination, when that’s complete, it’s going to be one game with all the locations starting from Paris in Hitman to the last location in Hitman 3.”

Additionally, Abrak mentioned that his team is “looking into the future with new things and potentially new IPs that we might be working on.”

However, it seems like Hitman 3 and the secret new IP may be in early development, so we may be waiting a few years before any official announcement. Are you excited for a Hitman 3? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @FMyth_Gaming…
