Universal’s blockbuster dino-sequel Jurassic World has continued its march up the all time box office chart, overtaking Fast & Furious 7 to become the biggest release of 2015 to date, and the fourth biggest movie of all time.
Jurassic World is currently sitting on $1.513 billion, compared to Furious 7’s $1.511 billion and Avengers: Age of Ultron’s $1.393 billion. The Colin Trevorrow-directed sequel is closing fast on 2012’s The Avengers, which currently occupies third place in the all time chart with $1.519 billion, and will likely lose that spot to the Universal release later in the week.
2015 has certainly been a stellar year for Universal Pictures, with the studio celebrating hitting the $5 billion mark for the year in record time this past weekend.
