Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge cast in Showtime’s City on a Hill

November 20, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Showtime has announced that Kevin Bacon (The Following) and Aldis Hodge (Underground) have been cast in the pilot for City on a Hill, a one-hour drama which presents a fictional account of what was called the ‘Boston Miracle’.

Hodge will play District Attorney Decourcy Ward, who moves from Brooklyn to Boston and formed an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran Jackie Rhodes (Bacon), who is deeply invested in maintaining the status quo. Together they take on a family of armored car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to encompass and eventually upend Boston’s city-wide criminal justice system.

“Kevin Bacon radiates intelligence and mystery with every role he plays,” said David Nevins President and CEO of Showtime Networks. “He is a gifted, mesmerizing actor who will be the perfect partner and foil to Aldis Hodge, one of Hollywood’s rising talents and someone primed to stand at the center of this powerful drama.”

City on a Hill is based on an original idea from Ben Affleck and Chuck MacLean, with the latter writing and executive producing alongside Affleck, Matt Damon, James Mangold and Michael Cuesta. Kevin Bacon is set to serve as co-executive producer.
