Kevin Feige says no plans for Fantastic Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

June 16, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Ever since the disastrous release of the Fantastic Four reboot back in 2015, there’s been rumours and speculation that Marvel’s First Family could be on their way back home to join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The speculation resurfaced backin May with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, with some fans assuming that the appearance of the Watchers meant that a deal of some kind had been struck between Marvel and Fox. However, it seems that isn’t the case after all.

Speaking to Allo Cine ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has dismissed the possibility – for the time being at least – stating that: “[We have] no plans with the Fantastic Four right now. No discussions about it.”

With Marvel currently in full swing with Phase Three of the MCU, it is of course possible that a deal could be struck with Fox in time for Phase Four – after all, things certainly moved fast with Sony once it became clear that there was a chance of bringing Spider-Man in for Captain America: Civil War. Nevertheless, for the time being, it seems the Fantastic Four are facing an uncertain future…
